Doctor, Doctor
I had a physical today. A very basic am-I-healthy-enough-to-raise-a-child physical. Our agency provided us with a specific letter that must be TYPED on DR LETTERHEAD and NOTARIZED and then we will send it to Bulgaria along with a bajillion more notarized documents.
The doctor was not pleased.
Apparently, having his staff type said document was going to be quite a hassle for him and he let me know his thoughts. FYI, it is was the most detailed adoption letter he has ever seen.
FYI, it has 4 questions, a statement of health, and takes up approximately one-half page.
I smiled. I needed his help and there was nothing to do but catch a fly with honey.
I prefer to be self-reliant, but there are some things I just can't do. Including when they involve a doctor's letterhead. We are going to have ask for help throughout this entire process... from professionals (doctors, agency workers to tell us what's next, police to run fingerprints,) strangers (online support groups,) and the people we love (pray for us, friends! Pray!)
Mostly, we have to ask for help from God since He's in charge of the whole thing. Protection of our kids, near and far. Timing. Funding. Patience. Joy. Peace.
And the prayers on the other side of this process are even more intense. Healing. Bonding. Love. Forgiveness. Patience. Joy. Peace.
We all need help and grace and a smile on a rough day.
I'm glad you're here. Thank you for your help.
