What's Next...
Hi! Remember me? I know it's been a while.
We have settled into a school routine and the kids are loving it. And, no lying here, I'm loving it, too. They have great teachers and are so happy to go to school and I get so much more done when I'm alone! I have also settled into my own school routine with a fabulous school district in Washington. I am working a couple of hours every afternoon providing speech and language therapy over a really awesome website. I have a "helper" in the school who is fantastic, I adore the children, and I feel energized with each session. It's perfect. A few hours a week doing a job I love from home. Also, yoga pants.
Other than figuring out our new schedules, I've also been laying low on here because I have had something big on my mind and I couldn't tell you yet and I couldn't find anything else to write about. I've been consumed.
Caleb received written orders this week. It's official. I have wanted to tell you, but I needed to talk to our case worker first because this is an extra step in our adoption and I needed to make sure it was all going to work out and that she knew first. It's fine. Just extra paperwork/interviews/steps/hassle/money. We'll get into that later.... I just got off the phone with sweet Julie from our agency so I can now shout it from the rooftops because all is well and she is in the know...
Newport, RI.
Navy War College.
These orders pretty much rock and we are thrilled. This is exactly what we wanted. It's only for one year and we are excited to be in the northeast and take advantage of the time we have. I have a dear friend from childhood/high school/college/adulthood...let's just say friend from life...who lives in Providence. Which you know is close to Newport because, Rhode Island.
Caleb is over the moon giddy for these orders and I am overwhelmed/confused trying to read his orders and set up a move and find a house and find a preschool and did I mention he is gone all month?
Google Earth Street View may have been invented by a military member trying to find a house from across the country. I can now identify Newport's streets from a bird's eye view and I'm constantly charging my iPad.
Oh, and another thing. Caleb begins school on November 2.
That's right, we have 6 weeks.
Six crazy weeks before we are on to the next adventure. It took 14 months for us to find out what would happen next and now we only have 6 weeks until it does happen. Life is wild.
Please pray that we easily and quickly find a house and for the kids as we transition. I'm grateful I can share our journey here.
xoxo
