The Move Purge
Every couple of years, we move. Such is common to Navy life. This means that every couple of years, I do "the move purge." I go through each room in the house and free myself of things we don't need.
Haven't used it since we moved here? PURGE
Don't like it? PURGE
Don't need it? PURGE
I am so tired of this and never want to see it again and what if it just got lost in the move? PURGE
The last one almost exclusively applies to toys with sounds.
There are exceptions, of course. We didn't use any of our winter/snow gear in Florida but we kept it. This move, we are going to keep some of our "younger" toys and books because we don't know how old the new kids will be when they arrive.
Overall, I love the move purge. It keeps us from having storage units full of things we don't need.
But, every time, I come across something like this...
The bundt pan.
The bundt pan falls into the tumultuous "but what if" category. I have used this pan approximately zero to one time in the 7 1/2 years of owning it. And then the "but what if" argument begins...
What if I need to make a bundt cake sometime and I don't have this?! I would have to buy another bundt pan and that is just ridiculous because I have one right here.
But I have NEVER USED IT! Get rid of it!
But what if Caleb or the kids want a bundt cake for a birthday?
Seriously?! No one wants a bundt cake for a birthday. Also, tell them NO!
But...
NO!!
Well, I'll just put it away and decide later.
----
And that's why I still have this bundt pan. Sometimes I just can't decide. The baby doll with the creepy giggle? Gone. The annoyingly loud Elsa microphone that E just adores and calls her "Frozen talker"? Absolutely keep. Bundt pan? ????
The struggle is real.
